Should I Keep My Puppy's Crate In The Garage Or In My Room?

We Just Got Her 3 Days Ago. She's An 8 Week Old Yellow Lab. My Dad Says That I Shouldn't Keep It In My Room Because Then The Puppy Will Get Used To Sleeping In My Room And Won't Be Able To Adapt To Sleeping In The Garage Later In The Year, But I Say That She Needs To Be In My Room So That When She Cries To Use The Bathroom I Can Hear Her And Take Her Outside And That Once She Can Hold It Overnight Then I'll Put Her In The Garage. Which One Should I Do?
