Would you say 5 feet 9 inches is short for an 18 year old lad?

Since I dont know my own height (!), i asked my mum what my height is and she said aroun 5' 9". Im just wondering wether that makes me short, average or tall for an 18 year old guy. There are quite a few guys at College who are at least a head taller than I am.
