Should I become a lawyer?

I'm only a sopre in high school, but I am trying to consider my options for the future and I am considering pursuing law. I like the idea of doing research to try to find solutions to problem and working with clients to figure out what the best option for them is, and I have always been a big fan of arguing my point against teachers and other clmates, but I am not great at public speaking, such as at a trial. Is there any chance I would be able to get a job that allows me to do the research or meet with clients or help to write testimonies without actually getting up in front of a court room? Also I am not really interested in joining a debate club or anything like that, I would prefer to be more "behind-the-scenes." I know I have a long time to think about this, but I am just wondering if I should pursue some sort of internship or something next summer or if there is no way I can make it through law school without getting up in front of a huge cl and having debates.
