What mental illness or mood disorder is this?

The guy that I have/had been w for 2yrs 1.has violent rages,he has hit me, n his mother. 2. has spliting/ Jerkyl n Hyde, 3.confided in me he thinks abou killing. BUT he displays tremendous guilt. Depression, and had an abusive childhood.
