ITunes app updates freezing?!?

Did some googling and seen the last few days news of iTunes being hacked. When I go to update my apps it goes to the download screen and downloads a few, then freezes up. I have to close using task manager and either restart the computer or wait a while and open iTunes up. If I don't wait it is still froze and not responding. I had to do this like 20 times because it kept freezing up. I updated iTunes and even reinstalled it. Nothing works. Eventually I was able to get all the updates done using the repetitive method! Anyone else having issues?!
